About Stopaq®

Stopaq® corrosion prevention technology is a non-aging visco-elastic polymer wrap that can be applied to switchgear cabinets and various metal structures.  This self-healing wrapping band rehabilitates deteriorating structures and allows for a permanent solution to corrosion problems.

Stopaq® is an ideal solution for the utility industry, some features include:

  • High electrical resistance
  • impermeable (salts, oxygen, bacteries, water) once applied
  • Excellent adhesion to steel and other substrates
  • Stable in extreme weathers. -49°F to 203°F (-45°C to 95°C)

Stopaq® is an optional upgrade that will be used in conjunction with Midsun Silprocoat to offer apparatus corrosion protection.

  • MATERIAL

    Stopaq’s primary layers within a system consist of a fully amorphous, non-crosslinkable, non-polar polymer composition which is totally impermeable once applied. The product has a low surface tension and due to their fluid-like mature cannot cathodically disbond. Corrosion through osmosis or MIC is not possible.

    Stopaq eliminates adhesion and fixation problems to most substrates. Due to its fluid-like nature and visco elastic properties, Stopaq systems prevent corrosion for life.
