STOPAQ® APPLICATION

Location: East Coast

Year: 2014

Reason: Parts of the switchgear cabinet were severally corroded.  This allowed water to enter  the switchgear cabinet causing a slipping hazard and a potential flash.  Stopaq® was applied to various spots to give a permanent solution for the problematic areas.  Since the application, the customer has not experienced any leakage.

This application was completed by Midsun applicators.

After the application of Stopaq®,  we applied Midsun Silprocoat over the entire switchgear cabinet. This allowed for complete apparatus protection.

MIDSUN SILPROCOAT

Location: East Coast

Year: 2013

Reason: The entire apparatus was corroded.  Midsun Silprocoat was applied to all of the switchgear cabinets in the substation which eliminated all problematic areas.  Application included sides, base, roof and under passage of the switchgear cabinet.  The coating can be applied multiple ways which allows the applicator to coat virtually any area.

This application was completed by Midsun applicators.

MIDSUN 570™ HIGH VOLTAGE INSULATOR COATING

Location: West Coast

Year: 2013

Reason: Midsun 570™ high voltage insulator coating was applied to new breaker bushings before they were installed.  This is a proactive solution in a highly contaminated area.  This will significantly reduce to eliminate the need to regularly washing the insulators.  By applying Midsun 570™ high voltage insulator coating, the customer will protect the breaker bushings from flashing due to contamination. The customer has not experienced any flashovers and they have not washed the insulators since the application.
